3D non-linear analysis of an arch dam from mathematical model to finite element analysis

This two part paper first illustrates a procedure to generate a finite element unstructured mesh directly from its mathematical description (using Mathematica, and a modern mesh generator). A non-linear analysis of the arch dam subjected to hydrostatic and uplift pressures is then undertaken.
