A scoring mechanism for gates

9 March 2004

At the Institute for Waterpower & Pumps we have a lot of experience in the field of uprating and refurbishing of old hydro power plants. Based on this knowledge we have developed a software tool (REVEX) for the evaluation of the condition of a hydro power plant [1]. Continuous research has been carried out to analyse particular parts of a plant in more detail in order to improve the quality of the single modules of the software.

This paper gives information about the work on the evaluation of gates recently finished [2]. In order to standardise the evaluation a scoring mechanism was developed. This paper outlines the basic ideas of the scoring mechanism, sets out one indicator exemplary and deals with the determination of the load spectrum of a gate recently analysed.
