A Vuong construction commences

The project will be built at a total cost of US$241M, 26% of which will come from loans from foreign countries for purchasing equipment. The remaining capital will be supplied by Electricity of Vietnam and loans from domestic commercial banks.

The project has been designed to have two turbine groups with a total capacity of 210MW and an average annual electricity output of 815MkWh and a water reservoir capable of holding 343.5Mm3. The first turbine group is scheduled to generate electricity by the end of 2007. The plant's construction will be completed in 2008.
