The African Development Bank has approved a US$3M grant to finance a feasibility study for the Kholombidzo hydroelectric project in Malawi.

The full feasibility study will investigate the potential of the Kholombidzo plant to contribute to the expansion of electricity generating capacity in Malawi.

Speaking during a signing ceremony, the Bank's Resident Representative in Malawi, Andrew Mwaba, said the Bank Group will be contributing to facilitating investment in the energy sector needed to support private sector investment and economic growth.
