Alstom India wins Nam Ngum 2 contract

4 September 2006

The contract was signed in Vientiane, capital of Laos, with Ch. Karnchang (Lao) Company – an EPC Contractor and subsidiary of Ch. Karnchang Public Company – which has awarded the contract to APIL, with a 43-month completion deadline.

The Nam Ngum project, funded by a number of commercial banks led by Krung Thai Bank of Thailand, is located on Nam Ngum river in the southeast part of Lao. The end customer for the project is South East Asia Energy, and Elektrowatt-Ekono is the independent engineer for the project.

This is the second export order won by APIL for hydro mechanical equipment, the first being Gurara project in Nigeria. In both cases, APIL is fully responsible from design up to site completion.
