Alstom to supply Beyhan-1 project, Turkey

The customer Kalehan Enerji Üretim ve Ticaret A.S. has entrusted a consortium with the processing of the entire project – the order value for alstom is approximately €35M and the contract was booked during fiscal year 2011-2012.

Beyhan-1 power plant, located near the eastern city of Elazig is the first of four hydro projects planned by Kalehand Enerji at the river Murat. With an installed capacity of around 600MW, it is also one of the largest and the power plant will contribute significantly to the future energy supply of Turkey. The start of operations is planned for mid 2015.

Under the terms of the contract, Alstom will provide the 32MW environmental turbine-generator-unit, power transformers, 380kV switchyard, medium and low voltage systems, electrical protection and a complete automation system.
