Alternative energy course launched

4 November 2002

The Indian Institute of Technology in Roorkee, Uttaran-chal, is offering a three-semester Master of Technology course in renewable energy that will focus on small hydro development. As renewable energy has been declared a thrust area by the Indian government, the course provides an opportunity for personnel already working in the non-conventional energy industry to be-come major players in an area where trained manpower is quite limited.

Applicants should be engineering graduates with at least two years experience. There are 15 places available per session, including five seats for sponsored candidates. The course is open to both national and international students. Deadline for applications is 15 May 15 2002.
