ST LOUIS, US-BASED AMEREN Corporation has given up on its efforts to build a new pumped storage plant at Church Mountain in Reynolds County, Missouri.

Ameren Development Company had filed a request with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for preliminary permits to pave the way for evaluating the feasibility of a pumped storage plant to supply peaking power to the St louis area.
