Andritz JV wins order for Batalha project, Brazil

The Euro44M (US$59.5M) contract was awarded by Brazilian utility Furnas, which is developing the plant to be fully operational by mid- 2011.

The contract calls for supply of two 26.87MW output Kaplan turbines, generators, governors, exciter systems plus other hydromechanical and electromechanical equipment and cranes. Services including erection and commissioning are also to be provided.

The consortium comprises andritz Hydro Brasil, Andritz Hydro Inepar and IESA Projetos.
