Andritz wins supply deal on Upper Kaleköy, Turkey

19 September 2013

Andritz Hydro, as part of a consortium, has won a EUR30M order from Kalehan Enerji, Turkey, for the supply, installation, and commissioning of three 235 megavolt ampere generators for Upper Kaleköy hydropower plant.

The planned hydropower station has a total output of 636MW and will cover - with a production of approximately 1470GWh/yr - the electricity demand for 150,000 households in Turkey.

Upper Kaleköy is the second in a cascade of four power stations planned on the Murat River. Last year Andritz Hydro was contracted to supply three Francis turbines to the first plant in the cascade, Beyhan-1.

Commissioning of the new generators for Upper Kaleköy is scheduled for 2016.
