Asia banks agree finance deal for Sekaman 3

Vietcombank and the Bank for Investment Development of Viet Nam (BIDV) have agreed the finance deal with the developer of the US$331M scheme - Viet Nam-Laos Electrical Investment & Development Joint Stock Co.

Construction of the 250MW project is underway on Sekong province. The project is being built by Song Da Corp, which has a 60% holding in the developer.

Viet Nam-Laos Electrical Investment & Development Joint Stock Co plans to build a total of 960MW of hydro capacity in Lao PDR, including construction of Sekaman 3. The investment budget is more than US$1.1B.

Other projects under review include Sekaman 1 & 4, Nam Kan and Nam Mo.
