BHEL commissions second unit at Teesta Low Dam

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has successfully commissioned a second 40MW unit at the Teesta Low Dam hydroelectric project (HEP) Stage-IV in West Bengal, a month after commissioning the first unit at the scheme.

The run-of-the-river Greenfield project is being developed by the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) on the River Teesta in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal.

The project will feature four 40MW units in total, with the remaining two currently in the advanced stages of execution.
