Big Brother will protect you

IN RESPONSE TO THE EVENTS OF 11 September in the US, UK-based company Pole Star has developed a security system that will monitor company assets and protect employees working in politically turbulent areas of the world.

PurpleFinder Guard does not require special hardware or software to work, just a standard office computer with access to the internet and a simple transceiver unit on each asset being monitored, says the company.

The system uses global positioning systems and satellite or land-based communications services to deliver two-way, real-time data on any mobile or fixed asset. As the transceiver is mounted on a building or vehicle, it will be unaffected by the destruction of communications equipment in an illegal attack. Pole Star can also link Purple-Finder Guard into a company's intranet, allowing the delivery of critical information from the asset being monitored directly to a company's nerve centre, to boost resource planning and management.
