Bilfinger VAM secures contract on Peru hydro plant

Bilfinger VAM Anlagentechnik GmbH has been contracted to undertake engineering and construction of the pressure piping system for a hydroelectric power plant in Peru.

The Bilfinger Industrial Technologies subsidiary is carrying out its first hydroelectric power project in South America for Enersur S.A., an energy supplier in Peru. In addition to engineering, the company is also manufacturing, installing and coating the piping for a total of approximately 2,700 tons of pressure pipes with a diameter of 1.9m.

Engineering is already in progress, with the first pipes to be delivered and installed at the construction site in November. All work is scheduled to be finished at the end of 2014.
