ACCORDING TO BHUTAN'S Central Statistical Organisation, the country's gross domestic product grew by 6.6% in 2001, thanks to the commissioning of the Kurichhu and Basochu power projects which contributed 10.5% to the GDP in 2001. The two power projects together generated an additional 55M units of power in 2001. The hydro power sector grew by 7.3% in the same year.
