Brazil and Peru plan hydro agreement

The plants, which would be built in the Peruvian Andes, could supply surplus electricity to Brazil’s Amazon region. Brazil’s state owned utility Electrobras is expected to carry out a feasibility study of the first project this month –the 200MW Inamburi scheme.

Studies for the remaining four projects will be completed by December 2010.
