Brüel & Kjær Sound & Vibration Measurement A/S has acquired its long-term partner, Sound & Vibration Technology Ltd. to further expand its Global Engineering Services team and capabilities.

Sound & Vibration Technology Ltd. is headquarted in Bedford, UK and has a dedicated team of professionally qualified sound and vibration engineers who services for automotive and aerospace customers.

Under the terms of the acquisition, the staff will continue to be based out of the offices and test laboratory based at its existing site at Millbrook Proving Ground, which has excellent facilities available to support service projects such as numerous test tracks, secure vehicle workshops and a semi anechoic test chamber facility. The acquisition includes all Sound & Vibration Technology Ltd. assets, such as extensive equipment to support a diverse range of data acquisition, analysis and Noise Vibration Harshness (NVH) Full Vehicle Simulation projects.

“Since we founded the company in 2003, after leaving MSX International, we have enjoyed solid growth with a core group of customers throughout Europe and Asia, many of whom are already utilizing Brüel & Kjær test equipment,” said Richard Johnson of Sound & Vibration Technology Ltd. “Being an integral part of Brüel & Kjær Sound & Vibration Measurement A/S now allows us to better serve global customers, whilst ensuring that the experiences gained from services are leveraged in future product developments to deliver better NVH solutions.”

The acquisition is in line with Brüel & Kjær Sound & Vibration Measurement A/S’s strategic direction to strengthen its engineering service capabilities to better serve both original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and suppliers.

“Our customers want to make more informed and rapid NVH decisions, whether it’s in concept development, design development or production management”, said Alan Humphrey, Brüel & Kjær Sound & Vibration Measurement A/S’s Vice President, Automotive. “The acquisition of Sound & Vibration Technology Ltd. represents another step change in our capability to deliver high end engineering services, building upon the 2015 acquisition of Sound Answers Inc., allowing us to better serve our key customers located anywhere in the world.”
