Two 67.5MW units were originally installed at the Cerrón Grande station in 1976 and 1977, although both have since been upgraded to 86.4MW. The civil works needed for the installation of a third unit were completed as part of the original project.
Prior to submitting the letter of interest, companies are invited to visit the project site, accompanied by personnel from CEL and other interested parties. The visit is scheduled for 12 October 2005, and companies are requested to notify CEL by 3 October 2005 the names of personnel who will participate in the visit.
CEL urges those companies with sufficient experience and technical and financial capacity to submit their letters of interest, providing a brief description of project experience and capacities. These letters should be sent no later than 1 November 2005 to Mr José Oscar Medina, Executive Director of CEL, to the following address:
