Cavico gets greenlight for Nam Kong 2

23 April 2008

The approvals for the 80MW plant were given by both the Government of Vietnam and Lao PDR’s Ministry of Energy and Mines as the scheme is just inside the Lao PDR border.

Cavico has a 70% holding in the US$120M project, the balance being held by Electricity of Viet Nam (EVN).

The plant, to be commissioned in 2012, is to generate 400GWh annually. All output is to be purchased by EVN and resold within Vietnam.
