Dam at risk of collapse in Melbourne, Australia

Water was found to be leaking out of the structure yesterday, newswires reported. A controlled release of water is now underway to reduce the risk, but residents are being warned to stay informed and monitor the SES website.

The dam, in Plumpton, would have a major impact on a nearby highway if it fails, but Contingencies are in place to close the highway if this happens.
