Doka acquires US distribution subsidiary

4 October 2002

CONCLUDING A PROCESS THAT has been underway for some time, the Austrian formwork technology group, Doka, has now acquired a 100% share in Conesco Industries.

Under its new name of Conesco Doka, the New Jersey, US-based company - with a workforce of around 150, and branches in Chicago, Atlanta and Baltimore - will service the US market for Doka. Formwork specialist Conesco posted sales of around US$40M in 2001.

For the UMDASCH/Doka group, which last year achieved sales turnover of around US$519M, this involvement in the US is a welcome complement to its existing worldwide activities. Whereas countries outside Europe accounted for a 19% share of Doka turnover in 2001, this year's figure is likely to climb to around 25% now that the turnover of the new US subsidiary is included.
