Finnish hydro power up

21 January 2005

The increase is apparently due to the copious rainfall in the country during 2004, which enabled a reduction of almost one fifth in condensing power.

Finland imported electricity in 2004 from Russia almost to maximum import capacity, with more exported to the west. At the start of 2005, the traditional situation in western power trading has returned, with large quantities of power being imported to Finland also from the west.
