First phase of Allain Duhangan project on stream

22 September 2010

The 220kV transmission line was not complete when commercial operation started at the project in July 2010, and the scheme had been operating on a temporary low-voltage transmission line. As of 16 September it began operating on high-voltage.

The rated output of the two turbine generators is approximately 200MW when operating at full capacity. However, due to limited availability of water resources, they are currently producing a capacity of 100MW.

The greenfield run-of-river hydro is operated by Allain Duhangan Hydro Project Limited (ADHPL), a subsidiary of Malana Power Company Limited (MPCL), a joint venture between Bhilwara Energy Limited (BEL) and SN Power.
