This project, supported by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperations (NORAD), will improve downstream communities' preparedness for floods by building on expertise from the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE).

NORAD is expected to provide P71.2M (US$1.5M) for the project, with P9.3M (US$197,410) coming from the Philippines, including P3.4M (US$72,171) from dam owner SN Aboitiz Power Magat Inc.

Magat Dam is a multipurpose 360MW project for hydroelectric generation and irrigation purposes. The National Irrigation Administration of the Philippines currently operates the dam.

SN Aboitiz Power Magat Inc is a joint venture of SN Power Invest of Norway and the Aboitiz Group.
