France funds rehab of Jabban plant, Pakistan

The funds will also be used to train local engineers and technicians from the Water and Power Development Authority.

Jabban is located on the Swat canal in Malakand Division. The run-of-river project was built in 1937, but was decommissioned following a fire in November 2006.

Work on the rehabilitation project began in May 2011. Once work is complete the capacity of the plant is expected to increase from 19MW to 22MW.
