New Zealand's Genesis Energy Limited (GNE) has signed an Engineering Consultancy Services Agreement (ECS) with AECOM that covers all engineering design and consultancy work presently required by Genesis Energy and replaces a range of up to 50 previous consultancy suppliers.

The three-year contract will cover 10 engineering specialties: civil, electrical, mechanical, hydro, dam, systems, wind generation, facilities, asset integrity and reliability engineering.

Genesis Energy Chief Executive Albert Brantley said the ECS agreement provides significant financial benefits for Genesis Energy while maintaining the required focus on quality.

“The awarding of this work to a global fully-integrated infrastructure firm is a significant change for us. We expect to see substantial long-term value from having a close engineering relationship with AECOM," he said.

The ECS contract was awarded following Request for Expressions of Interest and Request for Proposal rounds. In a statement, Genesis Energy said AECOM demonstrated its ability across the predominant scope of engineering disciplines as well as having access to highly competent sub-consultants.
