Germany has agreed to provide EUR20M to Pakistan to help build the 35MW Harpo hydropower project in Sardu. The funds are in addition to previous finance provided for the project's feasibility study.

Following an agreement signed yesterday between the country's governments, KfW Development Bank is expected to provide the funds for project construction.

The project is located on the Harpo Nullah, a tributary of the Indus River. It will include a 70km long 132kV transmission line and three grid stations.
