Go ahead given to increase cost of Brazilian hydro

28 November 2015

Owners of Brazilian hydropower plants will be permitted to raise electricity charges to their customers if production falls due to the country's persistent drought.

A Reuters News Agency report said that the Brazilian Senate approved the action in a presidential decree on 24 November. It is thought that this could enhance investor interest for power plants slated for auction.
