Hammering down noise

17 September 2001

UK-based BSP International Foundations has launched a range of hydraulic piling hammers designed to reduce noise output. The ten model range, designated CX50-CX310, are available with ram weights from 4-20t, and energy outputs from 50kNm up to 310kNm.

A reduction in overall hammer height has produced a more compact design and provided increased power to length ratio resulting in maximising pile length when leader mounted, says the company.

Improved cushion material within the hammers has been developed to significantly lower noise output, while the design allows for easy attachment of sound absorbing panels.

According to the company, servicing requirements are also made easy as all models are of open frame construction allowing straightforward access for maintenance.
