Hydro OGK, SUN JV study bid options for India, Nepal

6 May 2008

The JV is working in co-operation with New Delhi-based Tojo Vikas International Pvt Ltd to undertake the preliminary research work for the various project sites in the Indian state.

Separately, the JV is exploring options in Nepal.

The parent firms, through the JV, are looking to establish a hydropower generation company to build and operate plants in India. Plants being investigated would be developed to supply electricity to different states within India.

The 50:50 JV was established last year. IWP&DC reported in June 2007 that the parent companies had agreed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore setting up the JV for development and sales of hydropower in India.
