Hydro plant to close

KAUKAUNA UTILITIES IN THE state of Wisconsin, US, plans to close the John Street hydroelectric plant it owns in Appleton. The city-owned utility recommended the move after a study of the costs to maintain the deteriorating hydro power plant was found to be uneconomical. The utility plans to erect a new hydro plant that could generate about 2MW in the future.

John Street is one of seven hydro power plants operated by Kaukauna Utilities.
