The companies plan to manufacture and market hydro power equipment, and co-develop and operate plants. It is also planned to undertake the same strategy for the wind power sector.
Impsa will be the majority partner in the manufacturing work to the done by the joint venture, with a 71% stake.
On project development, though, PetroVietnam - a key player in the Vienamese electricity generation market - will be the lead partner. The projects will see the firms co-operate on a 51:49 ownership basis.
PetroVietnam is state-owned. It is a member of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group.
