Innergex in deal with BC Hydro for Fitzsimmons Creek output

7 July 2009

The 7.5MW run-of-river plant is under construction near Whistler, British Columbia, and is scheduled to be operational before the end of 2010.

Innergex said the Electricity Purchase Agreement (EPA) was signed under the auspices of the provincial utility's Standing Offer Programme, though the deal has to be approved by the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC).

The plant is expected to supply 33GWh of electricity annually to BC Hydro.

Construction on the Can$33.2M (US$28.6M) project started in July last year. The scheme is two-thirds owned by Innergex, one-third by Ledcor.
