Japanese firm equips Vietnam plant

11 July 2005

Sumitomo will supply two 140MW turbines and supporting facilities, and will supervise installation at the plant, located on the Srepok river. The turbines, which are expected to be commissioned in 42 months, will generate approximately 1485MkWh of electricity per year.

As well as helping to ease the energy shortage which is likely to face Vietnam in the near future, the Buon Kuop project will help irrigate thousands of hectares of land in the central highlands of Dac Lac and Dac Nong.
