Joint venture to build Malaysian plant

The US$14M project is to be located at Sungai Mokodou, Ranau, in Malaysia’s state of Sabah. The total project cost includes building a 33kV transmission line.

A renewable energy power purchase agreement still needs to be reached with Sabah Electricity for the project to continue.

Construction of the plant is expected to start before the end of 2006, with operation planned for 2008.

This joint venture sees the formation of a company, AMDB-WPD Hydro Sdn Bhn.
