JV incorporated to build new hydro in India

The new company – Chenab Valley Power Projects Pvt (CVPPPL) – will be tasked with developing the Pakal Dul (1000MW), Kiru (600MW) and Kawar (520MW) projects in the Chenab River Basin.

Under the terms of the JV, NHPC and JKSPDC will each hold a 49% stake in the company, with PTCI holding the remaining 2%.

Pakul Dul will be the first project to be built by the new company, followed by Kiru and Kawar. Global tenders for the projects are expected to be invited
