Kazakhstan-Russia joint venture for hydro

The venture would be established by the Ekibastuz 2 hydro plant and Russia's Unified Energy Systems. The plant is expected to increase its electricity exports to Russia following the establishment of the joint venture.

Plans have also been drawn up to construct a third generating unit at the Ekibastuz 2 plant.
