CKD Blansko Holding has won a contract from Fortum Sverige AB for the refurbishment of Vässinkoski hydropower station in Sweden.
Under the terms of the deal, CKD will carry out a complete refurbishment of the hydraulic turbine. It will also work on the refurbishment of the project’s turbine in cooperation with Croation firm Koncar - Generators and Motors Inc.
Vässinkoski has been in operation since 1967 and is located between the municipalities of Orsa and Sveg on the river Oreälven. It is equipped with a single Francis vertical turbine with output of 11.6MW and the runner diameter of 1545mm.
Work is due to be completed in 2017.
