Kleinfelder appoints levee segment manager

In his new position, Brizendine will oversee Kleinfelder’s levee engineering practice, providing leadership in all business development, project management and client account management efforts for the firm’s levee engineering practice, nationwide. He brings with him more than 24 years of engineering experience in a diverse set of technical and leadership roles relating to levees, stormwater and surface water management.

“We currently have a very strong levee engineering presence in the western United States, but with Jeff joining our team, we seek to significantly broaden our reach throughout the country and beyond,” said Anthony Zuena, P.E., senior vice president and water market manager at Kleinfelder, “Jeff’s extensive knowledge of the flood plain management business — especially in the Mississippi and Missouri River valleys — coupled with his existing relationships with professional teaming partners will undoubtedly serve to strengthen our presence and allow us to better serve our clients in the water market.”

Throughout his career, Brizendine has demonstrated a strong track record of successful project development and delivery. His past project successes have ranged from managing regional flood map reviews for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), to managing watershed basin studies for the City of Kansas City, Mo. Prior to joining Kleinfelder, Brizendine most recently spent eight years with AECOM where he oversaw his business line’s levee and stormwater markets nationwide, as well as the business line’s water resources market in the Midwest region. He earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering and a Master of Science in civil and environmental engineering, both from the University of Missouri.
