Kössler integrated into Voith Hydro’s small hydro business

4 February 2020

Austrian small hydro specialist Kössler has been integrated into parent company Voith Hydro’s small hydro division, with the merger expected to strengthen the division and expand the market.

Kössler has been a fully owned subsidiary of Voith since January 1 2008, and from now on will officially use the name of its parent company. In a statement, Voith said the core expertise of Kössler as a small hydro specialist will continue to be an ideal complement to the company’s portfolio in the small hydro segment up to 15MW.

“We are confident that this regional focus will allow us to become more effective and dynamic, while maintaining the customer focus that is one of our strengths,” said Dr. Leopold Heninger, CEO of Voith Hydro Europe. “This puts us in the position of being able to serve our Hydro customers worldwide even better with our attractive solutions.”

In future it is planned to further expand the role of the small hydro specialist as a technological center of expertise for the Small Hydro Division within the Voith Group.
