Last unit launched at Boguchanskaya plant, Russia

The last 333MW hydropower unit has been placed into operation at the Boguchanskaya hydropower plant in Russia, RusHydro has announced, moving the project closer to full completion this year.

The unit - the last of nine - was placed into operation in December. Total installed capacity of all hydro-units in operation amounts to 3000MW, although actual capacity currently amounts to 2880MW. Full capacity will be reached once the reservoir is filled to it design level of 208m this year.

The first three units of the Boguchanskaya HPP were put into operation in November 2012, the fourth in January 2013, the fifth and sixth in November and December 2013, respectively, with units 7 and 8 at the end of September 2014. The project is a 50/50 JV of RusHydro and UC RUSAL.
