Lithuania has large hydro potential say scientists

Lithuania currently has 50 hydroelectric power plants generating almost 3% of its energy demand. Among companies planning to build new hydroelectric power plants in Lithuania are Achema and Baltic Construction Hydro.

Lithuania needs new electricity generating capacity as a result of the forthcoming closure of its Ignalina nuclear power plant.
