Local funding for Vietnamese plant

Under a credit agreement signed with the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) in Ha Noi on 6th April, the Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (VCB), the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank), the Bank for Investment and Development of Viet Nam (BIDV) and the Industry and Commerce Bank (ICB) will grant a total sum of US$88M towards the US$188.6M power plant.

The Pleikrong hydroelectric power plant has a designed capacity of 100MW and is expected to generate 707 M kWh per year when it starts operating. It is scheduled to be operational between 2007 and 2008.
