Ing. Jan Šíp, Director of Development at mavel, said: “The Grodnenskaya project was one of the most important projects for Mavel in its 20 year history. It was the first for Mavel in the Republic of Belarus, the first utilising Czech Export Bank financing, the first commissioned utilising five Mavel PIT turbines and one of the largest in terms of total power installed. We hope to continue our success working with our partners in the Republic of Belarus in the coming years,” he added.

Mavel supplied five double regulated horizontal PIT turbines with runner diameters of 3m. Each turbine utilises the head of 7m and flow of 60m3/sec. The combined installed output is approximately 18.8MW. Mavel also supplied generators, hydraulic units, gearboxes and control systems.
