Methods for stress analysis simulating the construction process of high concrete dams

17 September 2004

A lot of computation time and huge memory capacity are needed for stress analysis simulating the construction process of a high concrete dam. New methods – the compound layer method, the special joint element, the method of different time steps in different regions, and the equivalent equation of heat conduction in mass concrete considering the effect of pipe cooling – are proposed in this paper, by which the process of simulating calculation is simplified greatly.
