Mexico awards $39M reservoir contract

Construction of the project will cost Mex$464M ($37M), while supervision will cost Mex$23M ($1.83M). Contracts were awarded to Grupo de Ingenieria Para Estudios y Control de Calidad and Geovisa.

The project's work includes building a 78m high and 380m long reservoir wall, which is capable of storing 83Mm³ of water.

Work is scheduled to start in January 2011 and will be completed by November 2013, irrigating 7,000ha of land, according to bnamericas
