Modernisation begins at Kegums-2, Latvia

Russia's Power Machines has begun modernisation work on the Kegums-2 hydroelectric plant in Latvia.

The company said in a statement it had started demolition of unit No 7 at the project, and will begin installing new equipment later this year.

Power Machines' scope of supply and services for the project comprise design works, manufacturing and supply of equipment, as well as renovation of the plant's hydro power units. The firm will manufacture and deliver three new hydro power units with maximum capacity of 77.8MW (15m drop) each, complete with automated control systems (ACS), followed by acceptance testing and commissioning.
