National grid moves progress

The creation of a national power grid to insulate Canada from power shocks originating in the US was thrust onto the provincial agenda after the August 2003 blackout. A proposed hydroelectric project in northern Manitoba and a transmission line that would bring 1500MW to Ontario is also being looked at.
