alstom has announced it is to deliver a high voltage generator to the Miller Creek hydroelectric project in Canada, with a planned commissioning in October 2002.

Operated by Edmonton Power Development Corporation (EPCOR), the plant is situated 140km north of Vancouver in British Columbia.

Alstom has also been awarded a contract for the high voltage generator to the Katsurazawa hydro power plant in Japan. Dating from the 1950's, the plant is situated in the town of Sapporo on the Hokkaido island.

The new unit will be handed over to the plant operator, Electric Power Development Company, in February 2003.
