New dam for Vietnam

The Cua Dat order, reported by the Vietnam News Agency (VNA), is expected to last five years and will see the construction of a 97MW hydro station and a 1.5Bm3 reservoir on the Thuong Xuan district’s Chu river.

Meanwhile, the Ankroet hydro power station in Lam Dong province is to receive a US$2.4M upgrade that will boost its electricity output to over 21MkWh per year. According to VNA reports, the upgrade is to be financed by the World Bank and Electricity of Viet Nam, and will see Ankroet’s H1, H2 and H4 turbines replaced with two new generators of 1400kW output.
